4-PLY INTERIOR FIRE TREATED PLYWOOD |
|
CDX Plywood is perfect for small project and repair work. Easy to transport, lightweight and affordably priced, these panels can also be painted, stained or sealed with polyurethane to finish a project as unique as you. Construction grade plywood would be C-D (commonly referred to as CDX plywood), which is great for structural use but not suited to be finish material. Glues used in exterior plywoods are much more resistant to moisture than interior glues. CDX is one of the most economical types of plywood, due mostly to the fact that it is left rough on both sides. The C and the D are meant to describe the two sides of the sheet. The lower the letter, the rougher the surface. So, A means the surface is a finish grade, while D means the surface is very rough. C-D Exposure 1 plywood is commonly called "CDX" in the trade; however, you will not find the term "CDX" in plywood grade rules or building codes. Designers, builders and materials suppliers sometimes mistake "CDX" as a unique or specific grade. "CDX" is merely slang for C-D Exposure 1 plywood. |
