WESTERN RED CEDAR EDGE-GLUED FINGERJOINT

It's a combination of a finger joint, which is created by cutting what looks like "teeth" into the ends of the worktop staves and matching them with alternate teeth cut into the ends of the facing staves, and edge glue, which is made by gluing the worktop staves together edge to edge. The Finger Joint (FJ) is a long, straight, and also defect-free length of timber that is less likely to twist than any other natural piece of timber.
